Chris Sununu, 40, grew up in Salem, NH and currently lives on New Hampshire’s Seacoast.  He is an engineer by trade and now serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Waterville Valley Resort.

Chris won the District 3 Executive Council seat in 2010, and is currently serving his third term in that position.  Unique to New Hampshire, it is an office he credits as being one of the most important in state government with a significant impact on the lives of New Hampshire’s residents.

In 2010 Chris led a group of local investors in the buyout of the Waterville Valley Ski Resort and subsequently became the resort’s Chief Executive Officer.  Employing over 700 people in the North Country, the resort continues to expand and develop as a four season resort to compete in New Hampshire’s vibrant tourism and hospitality business.  Prior to this acquisition, Chris served as an owner and Director for Sununu Enterprises, a family business and strategic consulting group based in Exeter.  Chris maintains his focus on the importance of the state’s small business economy, and works on issues that impact the innovation and job creation spurred by the business community.  In his work, he has focused much of his time to local, national, and international real estate development, venture technologies, and business acquisitions.

Prior to these endeavors, Chris worked for 10 years as an environmental engineer in various regions across the United States from New Hampshire to California, designing systems and solutions for cleaning up some of our country’s most hazardous wastes sites.
Chris holds a BS degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.).  He is an active skier and in 1998 completed a five-month through-hike of the Appalachian Trail from Maine to Georgia.  He currently lives in Newfields with his wife, Valerie, and their three children.
