Executive Councilor Chris Pappas

You are here

Chris Pappas is a lifelong New Hampshire resident and small business owner who was elected in 2012 to represent the nineteen communities of District 4 on the Executive Council. A proud product of Manchester public schools, Chris graduated from Harvard College in 2002 with a BA in government. Chris returned to New Hampshire after college to help run his family’s restaurant business and to give back to the community that has given him many opportunities in life.

In 2002, Chris was elected to the first of two terms in the New Hampshire House of Representatives. As a member of the Ways & Means and Finance Committees, he helped craft responsible state budgets. In 2006, Chris was elected to the first of two terms as Hillsborough County Treasurer. In that position, he returned $5 million to taxpayers by making smart investments with county funds.

Chris is the fourth generation in his family to co-own and operate the Puritan Restaurant in Manchester, a New Hampshire landmark founded by his great-grandfather in 1917. Chris has also served the community as a board member of Southern New Hampshire Services and the Manchester Historic Association.
